Drivers

If you are installing new hardware you may need to find an updated driver for it. A driver is a piece of software which interfaces between Windows and the device to make it work. Manufactures frequently release new drivers to fix bugs or to make their products compatible with new computers and software.

If you are looking for a driver you can try one of the manufacturer links above or the more general driver site listed below.

Internet and Email

If you already have a dial-up account with an internet service provider then you should have an email address.

The email address is usually "yourloginname@yourisp.com.au"
yourloginname is the account name you use to dial-up to the internet
yourisp is your internet service provider (ie bigpond.com or ozemail.com)

If you don't have one the following sites offer free email addresses.

Ozemail
Hotmail
MyMail

If you are looking for a dial-up account I recommend the following Internet Service Providers

iiNet (WA)
iiNet are not the cheapest provider but they offer a good, reliable service

PowerUp (QLD)
As with iiNet, PowerUp are not the cheapest but they offer a good, reliable service

BigPond (National)
BigPond have reasonable rates & service, they also use a national access number which is great if you travel around the country

If you are looking for a broadband account I recommend the following in order of preference, however your choices may be limited depending on your location.

1. Optus Cable
2.
BigPond Cable
3.
BigPond ADSL

Also, refer to our Hosting page for information on registering your own domain name and/or hosting a web site.
