Introduction
These guides are written and provided free of charge by Epsoft Computer Services to help you get the most out of your computer system.
Buyers Guides
When you are shopping for a new computer system it's easy to get confused with
all the different options available to you. The buyers guides help you sort
through the confusion by explaining all the options so you can make an informed
decision. Even if you've already purchased your system the buyers guides can
help you with printers and other peripherals.
Quick Start Guides
You will find several Quick Start Guides for common procedures such as starting
up and shutting down your computer, getting onto the internet, checking your
email, installing software and more. These are aimed primarily at new computer
owners and form the core of these guides.
Data Sheets
The data sheets contain all the vital statistics of your computer system
including make, model and serial numbers, memory size, hard disk capacity and
various other specifications. We will fill out these data sheets for you if we
install your system. The information will come in very handy when you are
looking for new software, hardware, upgrades or other add-ons for your system.
Supplements
The supplements include information on warranty, exchanges & refunds,
problem solving, software licensing and more. This information is not essential
to operate your computer but it's better to know this stuff now rather than
waiting until you have a problem.
Appendices
Here you will find useful reference material such as common acronyms &
abbreviations. The computer industry is littered with acronyms, too many to list
in fact, but we have included most of the common ones.
We recommend that you keep this pack near your computer as a handy reference. When you go shopping for new software or equipment take it with you so that you have all the specifications at hand. It will save you the time and frustration of returning items that are not compatible with your system.
